Poddar Business School organized a Workshop on Creating an Ecosystem for Startup for students (250 Nos.) faculty members and the Management Board members on December 2, 2022, at S S Jain Subodh PG College, Rambagh Circle, Jaipur The Workshop was conducted by Dr. Ashish Dikshit (Dean Research, Training & Development, Poddar Business School) and attended by students, faculty members, distinguished guests, and Board Members of the S S Jain Subodh PG College Management committee, like Dr. Devendra Sharma (Dean), Dr. Preeti Gupta, Dr. Rashmy Nair, Dr. Satish Sharma, and Dr. Rajesh Kumar Yadav.
The Workshop started with the Lighting of the Lamp, College Kulgeet, Welcome Address, Floral Welcome, Memento Presentation, and felicitation of Dr. Ashish Dikshit and Mr. Sharad Pareek by respective Board Members.
The objective of the Workshop was to make the Academicians/Students aware of their role in Creating an Ecosystem for Startups in the current scenario. I discussed with the participants the UNICORN Startups launched by IIT & IIM alumni. The information about the Startup India movement, various steps towards patronizing and promoting the movement, and the various new incentives declared for the Startups were highly appreciated. Also, the participants unanimously accepted the fact that the pandemic had badly affected the global economy, and industries, hence the job market had also been badly affected. Hence, the best option for the job seekers was to focus on innovation and entrepreneurship/ startups and change from job seekers to job creators.
Here the role of academicians is found to be very crucial in guiding and handholding the students develop their own startups and focus on entrepreneurship. The Management Committee Sù S Jain Subodh PG College has invited Dr. Ashish Dikshit to conduct more such Workshops, Faculty Development Programs and Seminars on their campus.
