Report on NASHA MUKT BHARAT: YUVAAON KI BHUMIKA The NSS Cell of Poddar International College, in collaboration with the Kashiana Foundation and the Avishka Council, organized an impactful awareness session on “Nasha Mukt Bharat: Yuvaaon Ki Bhumika” on Wednesday, 31st July 2025.
The event featured four insightful speakers — Mr. Sumit Ankur Singh, Founder of the Kashiana Foundation and Member, Ministry of Social Justice, Government of India, Mr.Nishant Shrivastava , acclaimed scientist, educationist and President of Avishka Council Dr. Harish payala Director of Gandhi Sardar Foundation and State Executive Member of BJP Kisan Morcha, Rajasthan Mr. Rakesh Singh, Editor, Rajasthan Patrika— who addressed the serious issue of substance abuse among youth. Mr. Sumit Ankur Singh , shared his personal journey, shedding light on the devastating consequences of addiction on young lives. He stressed the importance of timely intervention and the role of supportive communities in overcoming addiction. His words served as a call to action, encouraging students to join the movement for a drug-free future. Following this,Mr. Nishant Shrivastava, discussed the growing problem of drug abuse among adolescents and young adults. He explored various contributing factors such as lack of awareness, curiosity, peer pressure, stress, and emotional difficulties. He emphasized how these challenges hinder the overall development of youth and offered insights into how awareness and education can help prevent addiction. Third speaker Dr. Harish payala also emphasized to eliminate addiction from our society and to empower communities through education, innovation and compassion. Chairperson of Poddar group of Institutes Dr. Anand Poddar also addressed the gathering, urging students to focus on their academics and personal growth. He encouraged them to pursue constructive hobbies and maintain a healthy lifestyle for their mental and physical well-being. College Principal Professor Praveen Goswami presented the Vote of thanks and expressed collective gratitude to all the dignitaries,guests, volunteers and organizers. The session was concluded by NSS Program Officer Dr. Shilpika Tewari with all attendees taking a pledge to “Say No to Drugs.” It was a thought-provoking and enlightening experience that aimed to foster a deeper understanding of addiction and inspire positive change within the student community.
