Manthan 2023 – National Level Inter-collegiate Fest

From academic excellence to cultural Fests – Poddar International College leaves no stone unturned for the all-round development of its students. In the Annual Cultural Fest ‘Manthan’, the panorama of tremendous talents of the students was worth watching. Back to back events with neck to neck competition from fashion to drama, from music to cooking, from science to creativity, from Business to Dance was unforgettable for the audience.

Nukad Natak

The Annual national Inter-collegiate gala event commenced with the lamp lightening ceremony by the eminent guests and judges in the presence of honorable Chairman of Poddar Group of Institutes Dr. Anand Poddar, Vice Chairperson Ms. Roopal Poddar, Prinicipal Mr. Praveen Goswami and Vice Principal Ms. Meenu Mangal. Mr. Sunil Kakkad – the host of the event welcomed the guests.

The program commenced with the Nukad Natak – street play prevalent in Indian culture for raising awareness on the evil practices of the society and the nation. Back to back mind-blowing Nukad Natak performances by the students of various colleges made the session lively.

Why women laborers paid less than male labors? Is Boycotting Fair? Why women are considered as weaker gender and why there is female infanticide? These were some of the burning questions displayed by the students for Inter-college Nukad Natak Contest.

 Retail Hub

People don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it. This goes perfectly with the business and marketing skills in the Retail Hub. The students displayed their amazing marketing skills in their small business stalls. From Kurtis to Clocks, from Yaroon Shirts to Pasta Delight, from Fruit Salad to Game Zone, from Indian Spicy Chaat to Handmade products like show pieces and utility Items – there was everything to attract the consumers.

Croquis Design

Fashion is part of the daily air and it changes all the time, with all the events. Trends keep changing so it there can be observed a kind of revolution in clothes. Before turning the fabric into an outfit, there is an important step - Croquis Design, which is a kind of creating a sketch and drawing of the outfits before creating the outfits. The design students showed great zeal and enthusiasm in participating in this contest.

Science Inventia

Science is magic that works. In the Science Inventia the students showcased their models which surpassed all the expectations. There were glimpses of the hydronic farm where farming can be done only with water and without using land and soil. The Water Treatment Plant was displayed greatly. Rain Water Harvesting, Waste Management, Solar Panels, Air Pollution Control Models, Energy Saving Models, Forest Preservation and Organic Farming techniques were some of the other jaw dropping models presented by the students. Most of the models were working.

Moreover, making colors and soaps using natural things was a commendable effort by the students. Using herbs to cure diseases was worth watching. Besides, there were Herbal Candles and Lava Lamp made with very simple home-based products. A volcano was also displayed in the science gallery.

Master Chef

A recipe has no soul.  However, a chef can bring soul to the recipe. This spirit was shown by the students by displaying their culinary skills. Some of the recipes displayed by the students were:

Delicia Vegetarian (Spanish Salad), KitKat King and Virgin Mojito, Desert Box, Rose Sweets, Nachos, Cutlets, and Wake up Mirinda. Indian cuisine comprised Dahi Badas, Chhole Bhatore, Candy Wada Pav, Milk Cake and Besan ke Laddus. Besides, there were Spring Rolls and Pasta also. The judes were speechless to see the fantastic performance of the students. The winners of the contest were decided by the judges from the hospitality industry.

Solo Song Competition

The eminent Guests, Guests of Honor and Judges were welcomed by presenting saplings. Besides, the Chairman briefed the participants about the activities and relevance of the four day cultural gala ‘Manthan’. Amazing Band performance was given by Maharani College Girls.

There were brilliant back to back performances by the students from classical to old melodies; and from latest Bollywood songs to new generation rap songs. The students left no stone unturned by their amazing melodies. The judges of the show, who were renowned singers also presented their mind blowing performances. The competition was so tough that there was a tie and they were to perform again to get the winners. The winners were awarded with cash prizes in the end. The audience was simply unstoppable by the mesmerizing melodies of the participants, judges and members of Jaipur Kala Ankur Kutumb.

Wall Paintings

Incredible artistic skills was shown in at day three at Poddar Business School. The paintings made on the walls of the campus were theme based and conveyed important messages. Some of the burning social issues were portrayed by the students by their strokes of creativity. The Campus wall was full with the artistic work by the students.

Solo Dance Contest

In the Inter-collegiate solo dance the students from various colleges participated with great zeal and enthusiasm. Here also there were various dance forms like classical, folk, hip hop, free style, etc. The sprit and skills of the students both were worth watching.

Budding Designers

Outfits comprising themes like Women for Women taking pastal shades, Half Spirit, Floral Designs were few of the fabulous designs that stole the limelight. The ramp witnessed graceful catwalk of the students as models. The amazing part of the fashion show that the awesome outfits were designed by young and budding designers. The judges from the fashion industry were highly impressed by the students’ designs.

Group Dance Contest

Talents aren’t meant to be hidden. They’re meant to be celebrated! This is what was shown in the inter-college Group Dance contest. The rich culture came alive by the variety of dance performances by the various groups. Bhangra, Classical, Giddha, Ghoomar, etc. were few of the dance forms showed by the students. Besides, Hip Hop and other styles of western dance were simply a feast for the eyes.

Ramp Walk

It can be said that everyday is a fashion show and the world is the ramp walk. Last but not least, there were amazing ramp walk and fashion shows at the end of the event. The Fashion kaleidoscope was simply smashing. The winners of the various contests were announced and awarded. Towards the end of the program a Vote of Thanks was presented by the Chairman of the Poddar Group Dr. Ananad Poddar.
