Garba Mahotsav, a vibrant and culturally rich celebration, came to life with great enthusiasm at Poddar Business School in Jagatpura. This event was a delightful spectacle of tradition, dance, and communal spirit, where students and college staff came together to revel in the joy of Navratri.
The festivities kicked off with the traditional Garba dance, a mesmerizing form of folk dance that pays homage to the Goddess Durga. Students, dressed in colourful and ornate traditional attire, swayed and twirled to the beat of the dhol, creating a lively and energetic atmosphere. The rhythmic footwork and graceful hand movements of the dancers were a testament to the rich cultural heritage of India.
In addition to Garba, the event featured a diverse array of traditional dances. These various dance forms showcased the diverse tapestry of Indian culture and the unity that binds different regions together.
The highlight of the evening was the active participation of the college staff, who joined the students in the celebrations. This inclusivity and camaraderie between students and staff truly embodied the essence of Navratri – a time when people come together, breaking barriers and celebrating as one big family.
Students also had the opportunity to display their talents through various presentations.
As a gesture of appreciation, Ajay and Deepti Gangwani, Bhavna Sharma and Neeraj Bairwa were honoured for their impressive traditional attire, receiving accolades for their best-dressed appearances. These awards celebrated not only their sartorial choices but also their commitment to preserving and promoting the beauty of Indian traditions.
The event also witnessed the college director, Rupal Poddar, extending her warm wishes for a joyful Navratri to everyone present. Her words of encouragement and blessings added a sense of belonging and togetherness to the gathering.
In conclusion, the Garba Mahotsav at Poddar Business School in Jagatpura was a delightful confluence of tradition, culture, and unity. The joy of Navratri was palpable in the air, and the event served as a reminder of the importance of celebrating our cultural heritage and coming together as a community. It was a night filled with colourful attire, lively dances, and a strong sense of belonging, leaving a lasting memory of a beautiful and culturally rich celebration.
