At Poddar Group of Institutions, a leading MBA college in Jaipur, a strong foundation in legal principles is built for future business leaders, entrepreneurs, and commerce professionals. Continuing the tradition of delivering practical and engaging learning experiences, the Department of Commerce recently conducted an interactive presentation on The Indian Contract Act, 1872, for their management students.
The session, led by highly qualified faculty members of the institution, aimed to simplify complex legal concepts and help students understand their real-world applications. The presentation began with the definition and scope of the Indian Contract Act, 1872—a law that forms the backbone of commercial transactions in India. Students of Poddar’s BBA course in Jaipur were introduced to the essentials of a valid contract, including offer, acceptance, consideration, capacity, free consent, and lawful object.
What made the session highly impactful was the use of real-life case studies and examples. Students explored landmark cases such as Carlill v. Carbolic Smoke Ball Co. (1893), which explained the concept of a unilateral offer, and Mohori Bibee v. Dharmodas Ghose (1903), illustrating agreements with minors. These examples helped students see how the law is not just theory but a guiding framework for resolving disputes in day-to-day business dealings.
The session also included a discussion-based activity, where students were divided into groups to analyze scenarios and decide whether a valid contract existed. This encouraged critical thinking, teamwork, and practical application of legal principles—key skills that the business schools in Rajasthan and India must nurture in their students.
During the session, it was emphasized that understanding the Indian Contract Act is crucial not just for aspiring lawyers but for anyone entering the business world. From employment agreements and sales contracts to partnership deeds and service terms, contracts govern almost every professional relationship. By mastering these fundamentals, students are prepared to make informed decisions, protect their interests, and uphold ethical standards in their careers.
At Poddar Group of Institutions, the best management college in Jaipur, experiential learning blends academic excellence with industry relevance. Sessions like these reflect the institution's commitment to producing graduates who are not only knowledgeable but also capable of applying that knowledge in practical, impactful ways.
With highly qualified faculty, interactive teaching methods, and a focus on holistic development, Poddar Group continues to be a leader in higher education, preparing students to excel in commerce, law, and beyond.
