At Poddar Group of Institutions, which includes Poddar Business School and Poddar International College, the construction of the International Business domain is aligned with industry and global trade. As a leading business school in Jaipur and a reputed Management college in Jaipur, the institutions ensure that management students learn not only business concepts but also the practical execution of international business decisions. This industry-oriented approach is further strengthened through initiatives such as the Global Immersion Program, which provides students with exposure to global business practices and international markets.
A recent classroom discussion revolved around a FedEx partnership with the Gems & Jewelry Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) regarding a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This collaboration was used to illustrate how partnerships optimize ecosystems for exports. Students were able to identify and appreciate the role of logistics, transportation solutions, and global time-sensitive deliveries in the export of high-value gems and jewelry. They were also made aware of the significance of a delivery service company's ability to meet compliance standards and maintain service reliability.
Using this Memorandum of Understanding as a case study, faculty explained several International Business concepts including export facilitation, global trade promotion bodies, global supply-chain integration, and logistics’ contribution to enhancing a nation’s international competitiveness. The case study also illustrated how Indian exporters partner with global logistics companies to manage risks associated with delays, gain access to international markets, and meet international delivery standards.
The case study further reflected the experiential learning methodology adopted by Poddar institutions, recognized among the contenders for a top MBA college in Rajasthan. Students of both business schools were encouraged to identify the beneficiaries of the collaboration, assess its competitive advantages, and analyze the role of policies and partnerships between local and global businesses in driving export growth.
International Business education at both institutions focuses on transforming news into knowledge and strategy into practical skills. The GJEPC–FedEx MoU case study provided students with valuable global insights and managerial competencies, preparing them to operate effectively in an increasingly interconnected global economy.
