At Poddar Business School, one of the best MBA colleges in Rajasthan, our management students gain practical insights into the world of marketing through real-world case studies. Under the mentorship of our highly qualified faculty, students recently undertook a deep dive into the "Marketing Strategy of Amul," a brand synonymous with Indian households. This assignment challenged them to analyze how Amul consistently maintains its iconic status through its advertising.
The core brand messages Amul has consistently conveyed over decades are "The Taste of India" and "Utterly Butterly Delicious." This messaging transcends mere product attributes, positioning Amul as an intrinsic part of Indian culture, tradition, and everyday life. It evokes feelings of nostalgia, trust, and national pride.
Students of our MBA course in Jaipur identified three key elements that underpin this consistent messaging:
1. Humor and Topicality: Amul's iconic "Amul Girl" advertisements are renowned for their witty, often satirical commentary on current events, social issues, and pop culture. This immediate relevance and light-hearted approach keep the brand fresh and engaging, ensuring its advertisements are anticipated and widely shared.
2. Relatability and Simplicity: The Amul Girl, with her unassuming charm and simple, catchy taglines, creates an instant connection with consumers across all demographics. The messaging is direct, easy to understand, and resonates with the common Indian experience.
3. National Pride and Trust: Through campaigns like "Amul Doodh Peeta Hai India," Amul has strategically woven itself into the fabric of national identity, portraying its products as essential for a healthy and thriving India. This consistent emphasis on quality and affordability, stemming from its cooperative model, further solidifies consumer trust.
Through this case study, students of Poddar Business School and Poddar Management & Technical Campus, prestigious MBA/PGDM colleges in Jaipur, not only dissected Amul's advertising genius but also grasped the enduring power of consistent brand messaging in building lasting customer loyalty.
