    What is CAT?

    Common Admission Test (CAT) exam is conducted for admission into Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), other Top Business Management Groups in India and over 1,200 B-Schools in India.     What is MAT?

    Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a standardized test being administered since 1988 to facilitate Business Schools (B-Schools) to screen candidates for admission to MBA and allied programs. Government of India, Ministry of HRD approved MAT as a national level test.

    Pattern, Important Dates and Eligibility

    The CAT exam is conducted by the reputed IIMs every year in the month of November to get into the top business schools of India for various courses. The most popular of such courses is the coveted MBA program. The CAT exam is the most popular entrance exam, a gateway to the country’s IIMs and over 1200 top B-schools in India.

    Common Admission Test or CAT is a national level management aptitude test conducted annually for admission to MBA programs offered by the Indian Institute of Management (IIMs) and over 1,200 B-Schools in India. In CAT, candidates have to solve 66 questions on Quantitative Aptitude, Data Interpretatation, Logical Reasoning, Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, in 120 minutes.  A proper CAT exam strategy requires a candidate’s general aptitude, analytical abilities, and problem-solving skills, which are essential for a manager. This is why having a CAT preparation strategy is important.

    Is the MAT exam easier than CAT?

    Yes, the MAT is very easier than the CAT exam. The CAT exam is usually more difficult and has a section-time limit, which makes cracking even hard.

    One of the biggest advantages of an MBA is that it has the facility of various specializations which are not there in other exams. It opens doors to endless opportunities that offers students to the work in a variety of industries.

    MAT exam is conducted in offline (Paper Based Test or PBT), online (Computer Based Test or CBT) and remote proctored (Internet Based Test or IBT) modes. Candidates can choose to appear in the exam in any mode as per their preference. Fees, exam pattern and syllabus for all three modes are same but admit card download and exam dates are different.  The MAT preparation strategy should be well planned and in accordance with the MAT exam pattern and MAT syllabus.
