Dr. Vaishali Gupta conducted an experiential learning activity titled “Save your Balloon” for MBA students.
Each student was given a balloon and one clear instruction:
👉 “Save your balloon.”
Within minutes, the room was filled with excitement, laughter… and chaos.
Students started pricking each other’s balloons in an attempt to be the last one standing.
In the end — no one had a balloon left.
That’s when the realization struck:
In our race to “win,” we often forget that survival doesn’t always mean someone else’s loss. True success in teams and organizations comes from collaboration, empathy, and collective growth, not from tearing others down.
What started as a playful activity turned into a deep reflection on leadership mindset, cooperation, and emotional intelligence.
